Warranty Policy

Retro Regen stands behind the quality of its refurbishment and restoration work. This Warranty Policy applies to refurbished consoles and other products sold directly through retroregen.com.

Mail-in repair, restoration, modification, and evaluation services are governed by the Retro Regen Repair Terms and Conditions, including the workmanship warranty stated there.

Standard Warranty Coverage

All refurbished consoles and other refurbished hardware sold directly by Retro Regen include a limited workmanship warranty covering defects caused by restoration work performed by Retro Regen or parts installed by Retro Regen.

Coverage may include:

  • Failure of a component installed or replaced by Retro Regen;
  • Power, cartridge-reading, button, input, video, or audio issues directly caused by covered restoration work;
  • Defective soldering, wiring, assembly, or installation performed by Retro Regen; and
  • Other functional defects directly attributable to the refurbishment or restoration process.

This warranty does not guarantee that unrelated original components will remain functional indefinitely. Vintage electronics may develop age-related failures that are unrelated to the restoration work originally performed.

Warranty Duration

All refurbished consoles and other refurbished hardware sold directly through Retro Regen’s website include a 90-day limited workmanship warranty.

Coverage begins on the date of confirmed delivery.

What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Physical damage (drops, impacts, cracked shells)
  • Liquid damage or corrosion occurring after delivery
  • Battery leakage or improper battery use
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by modification or disassembly after delivery
  • Issues caused by third-party accessories, power supplies, or improper voltage
  • Failures of original components that are unrelated to the restoration work performed by Retro Regen.
  • Shipping damage caused by inadequate customer packaging or damage occurring before the item is delivered to Retro Regen.

Warranty Claims Process

If you experience an issue that may be covered by this warranty:

  1. Contact Retro Regen through the customer portal or by email at contact@retroregen.com.
  2. Provide your order number and a detailed description of the problem.
  3. Include photographs or video when reasonably possible.
  4. Do not ship the item until Retro Regen has reviewed the claim and provided shipping authorization and instructions.

Retro Regen may request additional information or troubleshooting before authorizing a return.

If the issue is determined to be covered under this warranty:

  • Retro Regen will repair or replace the covered item, component, or restoration work at its discretion;
  • Covered labor will be provided at no charge;
  • Covered replacement parts originally installed by Retro Regen will be provided at no charge, subject to parts availability;
  • The customer is responsible for securely packaging and shipping the item to Retro Regen unless Retro Regen agrees otherwise in writing; and
  • Retro Regen will cover standard return shipping after the covered warranty service is completed.

If the issue is not covered, Retro Regen will notify the customer before performing billable work. The customer may approve a paid repair or request return of the item. Applicable evaluation, repair, and return-shipping charges may apply.

Prepaid Warranty-Return Labels

When Retro Regen offers or provides a prepaid warranty-return label, the customer must review and confirm that the shipping address, exterior package dimensions, and fully packed package weight are accurate before the label is purchased or issued.

The customer is responsible for a documented carrier adjustment resulting from inaccurate package information provided or confirmed by the customer, changed packaging or contents, an incorrect customer-provided address, use of the label for a different shipment, or other misuse of the label.

The customer is not responsible for an adjustment caused solely by package information that was not displayed for customer confirmation, a hidden portal default, a Retro Regen software or configuration error, an incorrect rate selected by Retro Regen’s systems, or another error attributable to Retro Regen.

Additional prepaid-label and carrier-adjustment provisions are stated in the Retro Regen Terms and Conditions and Repair Terms and Conditions.

Limitations

The remedy provided under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at Retro Regen’s discretion, of the covered product, covered component, or defective restoration work.

Replacement products or components may be refurbished, functionally equivalent, or of comparable condition when an identical replacement is unavailable.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Retro Regen is not liable under this warranty for:

  • Loss or corruption of saved game data, account information, settings, or other stored information;
  • Loss of use;
  • Loss of revenue or profits; or
  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

Updates to This Policy

Retro Regen may update or modify this Warranty Policy from time to time.

Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, changes apply only to products purchased on or after the revised effective date.

Warranty claims involving an earlier purchase will be governed by the version of this Warranty Policy in effect on the original purchase date.
